Use precise definitions before comparing players. Goal rows, appearances and subjective ratings answer different questions.
A player can score several times in one match. The explorer counts goals; the scoring-match archive groups those goals. Neither includes zero-goal appearances, so neither can establish total appearances or goals per game.
Missing finish types mean the dataset does not record them. They must never be displayed as zero or used to derive a penalty share.
Calendar years run January–December. A July–June window is another defined interval, and MLS uses a calendar-year season. Specify the window before comparing totals.
Counts differ when they include youth titles, Olympics, super cups, conference honours or individual awards. The honours page lists selected verified club records and their inclusions rather than an unsupported grand total.
The calculator combines a sourced goals category with editorial starting scores and your weights. It shows how preferences affect a result; it does not prove a football ranking.
Senior competitive club goals and senior internationals, including international friendlies. Youth, Olympic, club-friendly and shootout goals are excluded. Includes the Arab Club Champions Cup.
